Seva Day Basics
When you arrive
Park in one of the Center's parking lots. Then head up the Amrita Hall driveway and stop at the “seva desk” located on the deck, across from Amrita Hall. A volunteer will help you find a way to serve for the day.
Water bottles and work gloves
Here are a few suggestions for reducing waste and being comfortable for the day.
Please bring a bottle of water to reduce our consumption of paper cups. You may also like to bring a travel mug for chai. Some volunteers bring along their own reuseable plate and fork for lunch, to avoid using disposable plates and utensils.
If you enjoy working outdoors, you may want to bring a sun hat, sunscreen, work gloves. If you like building or fixing things, it may be helpful to bring a few basic tools, labeled with your name, for your use.
You can arrange to be picked up at Castro Valley station. Leave a message requesting a BART pickup at (510) 537-9417, extension 447. Seva day pickups are at 10:00 am.
Ask for a ride back to BART with another volunteer.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes! Children are welcome at M.A. Center, San Ramon. Sometimes we have sevas that kids can participate in too. Be aware that you are responsible for your children at all times.
